Running Accomplishments:

I have run a few half-marathons. My goal is to get faster.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Eventually my husband wants me to run a marathon with him. My other goals is to try and keep healthy and fit for life.

Personal:

Married to my handsome husband (Big Dog) with 5 beautiful children, Anycia 16, AJ 13, McKade 8, Jadyn 5, and Kamri 9 months.  I just had Kamri in September and I am trying to get into shape after 9 years.  One thing against me is my Rheumatoid Arthritis that I have had since I was 16.  Working through it and trying to keep going.  My husband is a great support and a runner himself.  I just wanted to join in and do something he does...maybe I will be able to keep up with him someday.  So yes I am definitely a beginner runner.

I actually completed the triathlon...and it was so much fun! I am so happy that I did this. I will for sure do more.  I think the reason I liked it so much is because there were different things than just running, or just biking...it was a blast. I think my husband will try one now.  The swim was ok other than I started back to far in line so I had to keep passing people. The bike was by far the hardest...trained the least on this because the weather did not cooperate and when it did I had kid things going on. The run was great, I still had tons of energy at the end and probably could have ran another mile or so. I crossed the finishe line with my sister Megan but she beat me by 12 seconds.  my first transition was 5 minutes...not sure what took me so long but if I would have done that faster I would have beaten her.  I also ran 3 minutes faster than her. But she was 2 minutes faster in the bike and 1 minute in the first transition.  Over all it was a great experience! I recommend this to all of you ladies out there considering doing one.  Do this one as your first...you won't regret it, I promise! My sisters who did this, Amy, Erin, Megan, Mari, and my Mom! She is 57 and wants to do it again next year!  Tons and Tons of  fun!

All I have to say is wow! You did great, and to think you were worried about how you'd do. I knew you would do great. Now, keep up the training and lets find another fun event.

Great job Holly! I was excited to read your report and then some way I missed it until now. I am so glad it was such a positive experience for you and your sisters and mom! What a great thing to do as a family! Good luck as you continue on with your next goal!
