I have run a few half-marathons. My goal is to get faster.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Eventually my husband wants me to run a marathon with him. My other goals is to try and keep healthy and fit for life.

Personal:

Married to my handsome husband (Big Dog) with 5 beautiful children, Anycia 16, AJ 13, McKade 8, Jadyn 5, and Kamri 9 months.  I just had Kamri in September and I am trying to get into shape after 9 years.  One thing against me is my Rheumatoid Arthritis that I have had since I was 16.  Working through it and trying to keep going.  My husband is a great support and a runner himself.  I just wanted to join in and do something he does...maybe I will be able to keep up with him someday.  So yes I am definitely a beginner runner.

My Husband set this up for me and that is why it says Hot Stuff. I am working towards running a 5k in April (Run 4 Kids) with all my family and then in May I am doing the Women of Steel Triathlon with most of my sisters. So hopefully it will keep me going and get me into shape like I used to be 9 years ago before I had kids.

Welcome to the blog! After being out of shape for years, I am in shape like I was 10 years ago (height of my running was 1998, but I am finally in the same shape as then). So it can happen! Best of luck in your training.

Maybe not. Good luck in your running and blogging! I will try to support and encourage you to do both

So glad your husband got you set up on the blog. That's what my husband did for me in October. It is fun to be able to share your love of running with your spouse. Do you two get to run together much? It will be fun to get to know you through the blog and hopefully in person at some blog party down the road. Good luck!

Ran 3 miles at lunch with my Hubby...I am trying to lose weight and get in shape.  My family is doing the Biggest Winner (Loser) and I need to kick it into gear so I can win.  Our last weigh in is the end of April.  If anyone has any advice about how to lose weight fast let me know.  I am trying to exercise 2 times a day, Lunch and in the evening...then eventually I will go in the morning too, but I am not a morning person.

Did water Aerobics from 6-7 with my mom.

Welcome Holly & "Big Dog!" You guys have probably been on the blog for awhile, but I just ran across you. I see on BD's blog that you're in Heber? I just moved from there 18 months ago. Love Heber! My kids went to Heber Valley Elem and I lived over in the Ivory Homes. I miss Heber (but not this winter- hee hee...)

I went to the gym and ran 4 miles on the treadmill.  Awkard run for me, cuz either my pants were too big or my shirt was too short but my tummy kept sneaking out while I was running...and I was trying my best to hold my pants up and pull my shirt down...so after running like that for half a mile I started to walk. I tucked my shirt in and pulled my pants up and tied them tight to stay up over my shirt...so I was the nerd running...but it was more comfortable than letting my fat tummy hang out.

I am a complete slacker...not much running going on this last weekend. Saturday I was a busy girl. I am a photographer as a little side job (I really enjoy doing it) and I had 3 appointments that day plus my hubby was gone to a golf tournament in Price so I didn't get much time to run. Weather was crappy in the morning and then I took pictures in the afternoon.  Anyways, I am running a 5k in St. George (Run 4 Kids) this weekend. My very first race...SCARY! Actually I am really looking forward to it. So hopefully it will go well. Hoping to run tonight...maybe even outside if the weather cooperates!

We are going to be in St. George this weekend. After seeing what your run is going to be we looked it up and decided we will probably run it also. We did a half marathon last Saturday, so I'm not sure what it will be like, but it sounds fun to do and we need to get some miles in anyway. So I will probably run into you there!

Just went on a brisk walk down to the local bike shop to try and fix our jog stroller. It rears to the right and is a little annoying. Leaving for St. George in the morning hoping to run when I get there. I have had really bad cramps so that has put a damper on things...sometimes being a woman completely sucks! Oh well!  I run my first race in 4 days...SCARY yet Exciting! I will blog about it when I get back!

Well today was the Run-4-kids race. I ran with my little kids, McKade 8 and Jadyn 5, in the 1k and pushed a jog stroller with Kamri (6 1/2 months old) in it and then ran in the 5k. It was a fun race but the hills sucked! I was not ready for the hills and so I tried to walk a little up the hills. My goal was to run under 30 minutes and I did it! WAHOO! I ran in 29:29. I was 11th in my age group and 49th overall. Not too shabby for my very first race ever!

My husband took 2nd in his division (10k) by losing to the first place person by 2 seconds, bummer! My son AJ took 2nd in his division (10k)! My daughter Anycia took 1st in her division (5k) and her first race! My sister Erin took 1st in her division (10k) and 3rd overall! My brother Dave ran the 10k too but didn't place but still came in 8th in his division! My Mom Jacquie took 5th in her age division and this was her first race ever too! So we had a bunch of people running. I had lots of family do the 1k and cheer us on when we came in to cross the finish line.

Overall it was lots of fun and I am excited for my next event...well not really I just saw the elevation maps for my triathlon...SCARY! Hopefully it will go well.

The reason I didn't see your race report is because it is entered as a regular entry. In order to make it show up in the race reports you need to click the little box. If you go back to that day you could probably push edit and click the box so it enters as a race report if you want it to. It's kind of fun because then you can go back and look at all of your races as you add them in.

I actually completed the triathlon...and it was so much fun! I am so happy that I did this. I will for sure do more.  I think the reason I liked it so much is because there were different things than just running, or just biking...it was a blast. I think my husband will try one now.  The swim was ok other than I started back to far in line so I had to keep passing people. The bike was by far the hardest...trained the least on this because the weather did not cooperate and when it did I had kid things going on. The run was great, I still had tons of energy at the end and probably could have ran another mile or so. I crossed the finishe line with my sister Megan but she beat me by 12 seconds.  my first transition was 5 minutes...not sure what took me so long but if I would have done that faster I would have beaten her.  I also ran 3 minutes faster than her. But she was 2 minutes faster in the bike and 1 minute in the first transition.  Over all it was a great experience! I recommend this to all of you ladies out there considering doing one.  Do this one as your first...you won't regret it, I promise! My sisters who did this, Amy, Erin, Megan, Mari, and my Mom! She is 57 and wants to do it again next year!  Tons and Tons of  fun!

Running MilesSwimming YardsBike Miles

Well haven't been doing much lately! I am 14 weeks pregnant and feeling much better now.  I had nausea for the first 3 months and now I get headaches. This will be my 4th pregnancy and usually I have no complications. But this one is different...not sure why maybe because it is my last one? Anyways, after I ran my half marathon on August, I had horrible blisters and since I wore sandals all the time and didn't take care of my feet they didn't recover so well. Then school started and my hubby had to get real serious about running for the St. George Marathon...which he beat his time by 24 minutes and finished in 3:44:16! So those are my lame excuses for not doing anything. I am hoping to get back on the treadmill tonight and at least start walking for a bit. I am still hoping to do the Women of Steel Triathlon in May (I am due April 18th) so I need to get my butt into gear and keep in shape or there is no way I could do it.  Anyways that is just an update of my excuses and hopefully it will get me going again!
